MANUSCRIPTS
Manuscript section of the CIFSS is a toddler stepping towards preserving the ancient source of Indic knowledge. There are several manuscript libraries in our country. Unfortunately, there is no coordination among them. As a result, it is very difficult to retrieve information or copy of the manuscripts from manuscript libraries for research purpose. It is widely seen that requests of users for information from any manuscript library by e-mail remain unanswered.
To get rid of this big communication gap, and to ensure better coordination, we are planning to make our centre ‘a point of contact’ among the manuscript libraries and their users. Once this plan is materialized, our institution will be able to play a significant role in bringing out the hidden treasures of Indic knowledge.
