ONGOING PROJECTS
CONSERVATION PROJECTS
With the collaboration and funding of National Mission for Manuscripts (NMM), CIFSS
manuscripts wing is running Manuscript Conservation Centre (MCC). The CIFSS MCC helps
the nearby established manuscript-libraries and personal custodians of manuscripts to protect
their repository from decay. Following is the list of a few institutions and personal custodians
where CIFSS MCC conducted conservation, as well as other ongoing projects.
- E. Krishnan Namboothiri, Kolancheri
CIFSS MCC conserved 40 manuscripts of E. Krishnan Namboothiri. - Sukrutindra Oriental Research Institute (SORI), Tammanam
CIFSS MCC conserved entire collection of manuscripts in SORI. The number of manuscripts in SORI were 1173. - Narasimha Mandir, Rama Mangalam
The Narasimha Mandir of Rama Mangalam is a 700-year-old Devasthanam. It has some extraordinary size manuscripts; they contain land records and daily activities of the Devasthanam. CIFSS MCC conserved some portion of the repository of the Devasthanam. - Government Sanskrit College (GSC), Tripunithura
GSC Tripunithura has a vast collection of Manuscripts. Now, CIFSS MCC is conducting conservation in GSC Tripunithua. This is an ongoing project.
